There are great Ferraris and then there’s the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione. A mouthwatering recipe of desperate Pininfarina beauty, heady power, intoxicating noise and ballerina-like poise and finesse. And that’s before you factor in the multitude of international race wins or the charismatic drivers who piloted them.

Three consecutive Tour de France Automobiles. Two Le Mans class victories. The Tourist Trophy at Goodwood. Stirling Moss. Phil Hill. Olivier Gendebien.

The 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione we have been honoured to rehome for a second time is chassis number 2127 GT, which its first owner Pierre Dumay – aka ‘Loustel’ – and his French compatriot Jo Schlesser drove to a masterful second place in the 1960 Tour de France. Here's a taste of what such a special 1960s Ferrari Gran Turismo is like from behind the wheel.
