This year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este was special for myriad reasons, not least because it was our very own Max Girardo’s first year on the prestigious event’s selecting committee. However, it was particularly memorable encountering an old flame being presented on Lake Como by its new owner: the 1954 Ferrari 375 MM Spyder by Pinin Farina, chassis number 0360 AM…

If you’ve never been to the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, please, stick it on your bucket list. Set on the shimmering shores of Lake Como in Italy, it’s a spectacle of luxury, glamour and, of course, automotive beauty. As a team here at Girardo & Co., we have been visiting Villa d’Este for several years. Only in more recent times has our leader Max Girardo become officially involved, first as one of the esteemed team of jurors and subsequently taking his seat on the selecting committee.

The 2025 edition of the Concorso d’Eleganza was particularly special for us here at Girardo & Co. as it was a chance to catch up with some old flames. It’s always satisfying to see the cars we rehome being enjoyed by their new owners and shared with the world. After a stint in the discerning care of Pastorelli Classic Cars and a dynamic debut at The International Concours of Elegance in St. Moritz, the 375 MM Spider by Pinin Farina we sold last year (chassis number 0360 AM) was exhibited by its owner at Villa d’Este.

Presented by its enthusiastic new owner, the 375 MM was judged by Adolfo Orsi, Massimo Delbo and Paul Russell, all renowned experts of their respective fields, before parading on Villa d’Este’s terrace in front of the esteemed jury and the public. Needless to say, the soul-stirring note of the Lampredi V12 caused all heads to turn.

In order to allow the general public to admire the cars taking part in the Concorso d’Eleganza, the entire field including chassis number 0360 AM moved from Villa d’Este to the more spacious (though no less picturesque) Villa Erba on Sunday morning. But these precious cars were not packed away in trailers; rather they drove on the public roads, making for one quite spectacular cavalcade through the narrow streets of Como. The lavish black-tie dinner and firework display could not be a more fitting way to end what is always an unforgettable weekend in Italy.
