This fabulous Ferrari 250 GT ‘SWB’ Berlinetta Competizione was sold to Milan in October of 1960. Working together with our friends at the Official Ferrari Dealer Rossocorsa Milano, we’ve finally returned chassis number 1953 GT home – for the first time in over five decades. There was only one venue of choice for the delivery handover: the Autodromo Nazionale Monza…

In October of 1960, one Angelo Roma from Milan took delivery of his new Ferrari 250 GT ‘SWB’ Berlinetta Competizione, chassis number 1953 GT. Shortly afterwards, he was pictured posing with the car in the paddock at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, no doubt after a scintillating drive on the historic circuit. Now, over five decades later, this special Ferrari Gran Turismo has returned ‘home’ to Milan and joined the collection of its new Italian owner. Chassis number 1953 GT is a car we’ve been able to source and sell working in close partnership with our friends at Rossocorsa, the Official Ferrari Dealer in Milan (click here to visit their website). It therefore felt fitting to collaborate on the delivery handover of this ‘Short Wheelbase’ and head to the world-famous ‘Temple of Speed’ that is Monza.

The occasion presented a perfect opportunity to wake another Ferrari we previously sourced together with Rossocorsa from its slumber: the ex-Bill Spear 340 America Touring Barchetta that contested the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951. Throw in our very own Max Girardo and Rossocorsa’s Edoardo Schön, both donning period-correct headwear, and a well-equipped film crew and the result is a cinematic video of which we’re all really rather proud.
