Nothing short of the kitchen sink. That’s what the wizards in Maranello threw at the LaFerrari, the latest in its short but deliciously sweet line of flagship supercars. If any Ferrari road car warranted technological ambition the like of which had never been seen in Maranello, surely it was the model confidently christened LaFerrari.

Setting aside the myriad aspects which made the LaFerrari such a technological tour de force, we think it’s vital to take a minute to simply look and appreciate the shape of the car. For us, it’s everything a Ferrari should be – imposing yet elegant, sharp yet sleek, wild yet in many ways restrained. When form meets function in the most satisfying fashion. Proportionally we can’t fault it. The insectile wing mirrors, mounted atop those long carbon-fibre stalks, are the proverbial cherries on the scarlet cake.

That the design is now a decade old is remarkable – if the LaFerrari was launched tomorrow, we have zero doubt it would not be slated as dated to look at. Needless to say, Ferrari’s fastest-ever road car is similarly mind-boggling beneath the surface.

Increasing aerodynamic efficiency, improving weight distribution, integrating the hybrid system and maintaining cabin space and comfort. They were the goals when it came to designing the LaFerrari, from the bespoke carbon-fibre tub and stunning bodywork to the F1-inspired HY-KERS system, which combined the 800HP 6.2-litre V12 engine with the 163HP electric motor. The European-specification LaFerrari pictured, chassis number 202135, was delivered new to Frankfurt, Germany via the Official Ferrari Dealer Autohaus Ulrich in May of 2014. Finished in Rosso Corsa with a contrasting Nero roof, the car was specified with a number of factory options including the Telemetry and Track Camera kits, suspension lift, fire extinguisher and anti-theft tracker.

Its Yellow-book Serie Speciali Ferrari Classiche certification was issued in 2016. By 2018, this LaFerrari resided in the Middle East, since when it’s been routinely serviced by a single Official Ferrari Dealer. The current mileage reads 3,920 kilometres and, as a result of such low mileage, the car presents in exceptional condition.
