Mr Ferrari’s personal 612 Scaglietti

If you were a resident of or visited Maranello between 2007 and 2011, you may well have spotted this Ferrari 612 Scaglietti purring past the factory gates or casually parked outside Bar Cavallino. And that’s because it was built for and used by one Piero Ferrari as his daily runaround.

As was befitting for someone as important as the sole heir of the illustrious company’s founder Enzo Ferrari, Piero’s 612 Scaglietti was suitably well appointed and extensively personalised. Complementing the tremendously elegant Blu Pozzi paintwork was a cabin upholstered with sumptuous special-order brown natural leather and lavished with special-order blue-tinted carbon-fibre trim. There was also a special dedication plate fitted beneath the bonnet, showing its designated VIP owner.

As a 2007 model, this 612 benefits from the HGTC package, which comprised a raft of performance upgrades designed to sharpen up for the four-seater Ferrari’s act. In addition to powerful carbon-ceramic brakes, the HGTC pack included stiffer anti-roll bars, a slightly quicker F1 paddle-operated gearbox, and a sportier exhaust system, the four tips recalling the SNAP exhausts on the hallowed 250 GTO. It also has heated ‘Daytona’ seats and the optional 19-inch wheels.

Inevitably, this wasn’t a cheap car, the final list price totaling a princely 188,000 euros. But then we suppose Signor Ferrari wasn’t required to pay for the privilege of using it. As company cars go, we’re sure you’ll agree this is a very, very good one.

Following its duties at Ferrari, this 612 Scaglietti was sold and exported in 2011. Later, in 2016, it was sold by DPM Motors of Monaco to its previous owner and registered in Germany. In September of 2020, the car was serviced by the Official Ferrari Service Centre at Joe Macari in London, when the mileage was noted as 35,096km. It’s since received its UK MOT.

The exclusive specification and provenance as the personal car of Piero Ferrari elevates this 2007 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti above its ‘garden-variety’ counterparts. A fantastic modern interpretation of the 2+2 V12-powered Gran Turismo, this 612 Scaglietti is, as previously proven, truly fit for a Ferrari.
