The car we are offering here was completed on 11^th December 1995 and delivered new through Porsche Cars Germany. It was finished in the hugely popular and elegant colour of Polar Silver Metallic and first registered on 02 February 1996. The original owner ordered several options including driver & passenger airbags, air conditioning, electric windows and top tinted windscreen.

The car is currently displaying just over 36,000 Kms. Interestingly this is also one of only 17 993 GT2s believed to have been imported to Japan. The cars history file still retains the Japanese documentation with service stickers on the car confirming the mileage to be 32,543 Km in 2010, and 33,563 Km in 2011. The car remained in Japan until 2013 at which point it was purchased by a well-known US collector, Mr Jim Edwards of Sholow, Arizona. In October 2013, the service manual notes that a service was completed at 34,500 Km.

In May 2014, the car was purchased by Mr Ralph Lauren, for his famed collection in New York. Ralph Lauren is well known for his love of cars, his garage is one of the world’s premiere collections and contains gems such as a 1938 Bugatti 57SC Atalantic Coupe, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, a 1930 Mercedes-Benz SSK ‘Count Trossi’ Roadster and a McLaren F1 LM. Mr Lauren only picks the very best cars available to add to his esteemed collection. 

The 993 GT2 was not available to the American market when new. However, during its time in the USA, this car was adapted to conform to US emissions regulations by J.K. Technologies.

Since being purchased by its current owner, the car has been thoroughly detailed and prior to delivery will receive a full service and thorough, 111-point, inspection by Porsche Reading.
