After dominating the Constructors’ World Rally Championship for the sixth consecutive year in 1992, Lancia chose to build a special limited-edition Delta HF Integrale Evo 1 to commemorate the occasion — the ‘Martini 6’. At a cursory glance, the new livery on the model may look similar to the previous ‘Martini 5’, but on closer inspection, the red-and-blue Martini stripe over its white paintwork widens over the car’s bulging wheel arches in both the front and rear, as opposed to the “Martini 5’ stripe, which only begins to flare on the rear panel. Unique to the ‘Martini 6’, the model features three ‘World Rally Champion’ decals on both the front doors and front bumper, along with the appropriate numeral ‘6’; HF decals on each rear side panel; a large Lancia crest decal on the roof; and the famous ‘Martini Racing’ script on the rear spoiler.

Where the exterior details are subtle, the interior changes are quite obvious. The popular high-back Recaro bucket seats and interior trim were finished in a unique turquoise Alcantara, with HF logos embossed on the headrests, and a new steering wheel was fitted, along with a carbon-fibre-trimmed ‘Quickshift’ gear lever, which features an individual plaque inscribed with the car’s unique serial number. For an improved feel, Lancia fitted Teflon bushes to the gear linkage.

According to its Lancia Certificato Di Origine, this ‘Martini 6’ finished production on 30 November 1992 and was registered for road use on 21 December, before being sold to Trentinauto Srl on 23 December. Over the holiday season, on 28 December, a Mr Pietro Paolo Rosolen purchased this Delta ‘Martini 6’— a truly great way to end the year. The Guanzate, Italy, native put just 7,309km on the clock by 1994 and sold the car on 24 February 1998 to Fratelli Mariani Sas, of Milan. After being sold to Giuseppe Cominetti in November 1999, the car remained in the Bergamo area for 10 years, until it was sold to Giuseppe Lisa of Salerno.

After spending nearly a decade on the Gulf of Salerno, we purchased this ‘Martini 6’ in early 2018 . This ‘Martini 6’ is currently presented in beautiful condition after being fully serviced, including a new cambelt, and detailed by specialists in Italy. The car is accompanied by its tool kit, jack, manuals, service book and warranty card, along with its Lancia Classiche Certificate of Origin, which confirms its production and specification. Commemorating Lancia’s incredible six consecutive World Rally Championships, this ‘Martini 6’ represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of the Lancia legend.
