Number 100 of only 400 ‘Martini 5’ special edition examples manufactured
The Evo 1, WRC and Martini:
This Delta
HF Integrale Evoluzione 1 is one of only 400 very special limited-edition
models. At the end of the 1991 season, Lancia won their 5th
consecutive World Rally Manufacturers Championship, and promptly celebrated by
manufacturing a limited run of 400 special edition models, the ‘Martini 5’. In
1991 Lancia not only claimed the World Rally Constructor’s Championship, but
also the Driver’s Championship with Juha Kankkunen. Throughout its huge
rallying dominance with the Delta, Martini was the Lancia title sponsor.
The Evoluzione
1 (‘Evo 1’) specification Lancia Delta’s were built at the end of 1991 and
remained in production throughout 1992. These were to be the final homologation
cars for the Lancia Rally Team and featured a wider front and rear track than
earlier models for increased stability. The wings and arches were more
pronounced and rounded with raised front strut top mounts necessitating a front
strut brace. The Evo 1 retained four—wheel drive with the engine also being
modified to now produce 210 bhp at 5,750 rpm whilst also being the final Delta
to not have a Catalytic converter fitted.
The 400 ‘Martini
5’ Special edition Evo 1 Delta’s were all finished in white with a blue and red
Martini stripe running along both sides and sat on white Speedline ‘Monte Carlo’
15-inch aluminium wheels. The valve cover on the engine was painted red and the
interior featured the desirable Recaro high-back bucket seats and door panels,
both finished in black Alcantara.
This Martini 5:
The car
offered here was first registered on 27th February to C.S.F. INOX in
Montecchio Emilia with Italian registration ‘RE 655634’ through Lancia
distributor Autoluna. By 1998 the car received its 15,000 KM service, and a
year later in 2000 received its 20,000 KM service, carried out by Lancia specialists,
M.C.P in Montecchio Emilia. By 2003 the car had covered a further 7,800 KMs and
in 2009 was inspected by the Automotoclub Storico Italia.
The first
private owner, Aldo Pattacini bought the car in 2010 before passing it to its
most recent owner through Modena based car dealer, Autoluce, in 2012. Autoelite
S.N.C in Fiorano, Modena, completed a cambelt change in March 2012 and the car
was awarded its ASI (Automotoclub Storico Lancia) plaque in September 2012.
We bought
the car earlier this year and completed a full service at specialists, R3 in
