Documented ownership from new, Delivered new to Italy
The final rear-wheel-drive World Rally Champion!
One of only 207 homologation Stradale examples built
This Lancia Rally ‘037’
The car we
are offering here, chassis 060, was awarded it’s Certificate of Origin on 09
May 1982 before being registered in Italy in August the same year to its first
owner, Rosati Auto Rome Srl. Having been assigned Italian registration ‘AQ
172516’, the car remained with its first owner until 1988 before being sold to
ELNER Srl, where it remained for a further ten years.
In March
1999 the car was bought by Red Cars di Mazzotti Vincenzo, a resident in Crema,
Italy, where it remained for a further twelve years. Since 2011 the car passed
through several further Italian owners, before being bought by Maurizio Zanni,
a resident in Monaco, where the car was registered with license ‘176X’.
Recently,
this car returned to Turin, where it was inspected by the famed ex-Lancia works
Baldi brothers, at which point the car was displaying 22,006 kms. The Baldi
twins, famed for their experience gained working in the factory Lancia rally
squad throughout the Group B era, were asked to inspect and service the car,
ensuring peace of mind motoring for the next owner.
Today, this
car presents a rare opportunity to add to your garage one of the worlds most
important and rare Group B homologation cars. Not only the last rear-wheel
drive car to even win the World Rally Championship, the 037 is also without
doubt one of the best sounding courtesy of the supercharger scream!
