The Lamborghini Islero S

The Lamborghini Islero debuted at the 1968 Geneva Auto Show, with a 3.9 litre V12 engine and five-speed manual gearbox. Perceived as a more conventional design, less aggressive than the Miura and Espada by Bertone, the Carrozzeria Marazzi designed Islero was a more refined way to travel.

The production is split into two series, the Islero, and the Islero S which benefitted from an additional 25 bhp and several styling changes including an enlarged hood scoop, although this only supplied air to the cabin, not the engine! The fenders on the S were slightly flared with larger brakes

This Islero S

The Islero S offered here, chassis 6420 was invoiced to Garage Foitek by Lamborghini on 12th May 1969, with the total being 5,250,000 Italian Lire. The car was originally finished in Silbergrau (silver grey) with a Leder rot (red leather) interior and was fitted with engine 2973, which it retains to this day. In June 1969 the car was sold by Garage Foitek to its first owner, Frau Lucy Fleckenstein, who traded in her Ferrari 330 GTC, giving an invoice total of 49,000 Swiss Francs.

The car passed through several further owners, covering just over 63,000 kilometres before being inspected by the official Lamborghini dealer in St.Gallen, Switzerland in June 2016. Whilst at Lamborghini St.Gallen, the brake system was overhauled with pipes and calliper piston seals renewed, with the fuel tank and cooling systems being drained and refilled The car also received new air and fuel filters. Since this work, the car has covered only 3 kilometres.
