Marcus Willis

Marcus has transformed a life-long passion for classic cars and motorsport into a successful career within the research sector of the classic car world and is now the main point of contact for clients at Girardo & Co. with any questions relating to the motor cars being offered. His passion for classic cars was encouraged from a young age by his father, who was a keen club racer, and it wasn't long before Marcus found himself attending many of the events.

By the age of eight he participated in his first competition karting race, remaining active within the sport for the next ten years. Marcus studied both Motorsport Technology and Computer Aided Automotive Design at university, working on the weekends and holidays at a workshop in the Cotswolds which specialised in Ferrari & Porsche and also prepared and ran historic competition cars, focusing on Group C, Formula One and GT cars.

Once his studies were complete, Marcus moved from the workshop and into the office, learning how to manage a small business before moving to London and working at RM Sotheby's as the Research Specialist and Catalogue Coordinator. During his time at RM Sotheby's, Marcus built great relationships with many marque and image archives, circuits, racing drivers, owners and specialist workshops, allowing him to uncover a great deal of unknown history and add value to many recent headline sales. Also during this time Marcus participated in many classic car events including the Modena Cento Ore, the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, Concours d'Elegance Suisse, Pebble Beach and numerous Goodwood meetings.
